Computers in the Workplace
For this discussion, I`m choosing the industry of healthcare. It was easy for me because I have been working for a hospital for the past 17 years. In recent years I have seen how the computer has taken over the industry of healthcare.
Let me start by talking about one the more important thing, Patient Privacy (HIPAA). Health informatics plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry because it makes it much more efficient. One significant benefit of cyber-security in the healthcare industry is that it helps prevent the leaking of patient information.
I believe that another big one is staff review and prescribe medications using electronic health records. They also use a system like Epic programs to manage patient records, charts. This technology not only helps staff efficiency, but it also helps to prevent human error; doctors use PC to manage patient information, which can help them to make a more accurate diagnosis, especially when multiple Dr are working with the same patient.
With this technology, we can see any Pt records from any part of the USA with no problem. One of the more significant examples was I saw how a patient from China was taking with his primate doctor from China. The patient was in the emergency room, and she was talking live with her doctor, which one of Pt triage mobile devices super cool.
Another great exp is, advanced medical imaging equipment can now create three-dimensional images of body parts. 3D Mammography, 3D ultrasonography, MRI, and 3D x-rays. Staff store these images in a computer database, making them easy to retrieve later time.
In this generation, a 5-year-old baby knows how to use a table or pc device. Anyway, any position in the industry of healthcare needs to have some knowledge of computer,
I believe that not only on the industry of healthcare computer is going to be moss, But I think taking a computer 101 class in the element school is going to be part of the requirements.
